Independents will have access to traditional movie theater and on-line distribution opportunities
MEDIA MOGULS, INCORPORATED (MMI) has been in negotiation to include theatrical distribution as a part of our distribution services. This has now been accomplished. What this means is that we are now able to consider filmmakers for theatrical distribution, as well as online distribution.
/Movies and Video PR News/ - RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH, September 15, 2008 - MEDIA MOGULS, INCORPORATED (MMI) has been in negotiation to include theatrical distribution as a part of our distribution services. This has now been accomplished. What this means is that we are now able to consider filmmakers for theatrical distribution, as well as online distribution.
Per MMI' s CEO, Francine Dash-Johnson, "(w)e are attempting to be a full service shop for independent producers. Independents can use us to distribute and make money on their movies or shorts in traditional movie theaters, and after the film or short has made its movie run, we can help the independent make additional money through online distribution. Future plans include DVD sales."
In addition, MMI also has a generous payment system. On-line distribution is non-exclusive and starts at 50% of net receipts and goes up to 75% of net receipts, depending upon viewership. Also note that this is a true distribution service, which means that it is a free service offered to filmmakers. Theatrical distribution is also a free service and theatrical pay outs will vary, based on the film and the expected audience.
MMI is a Cleveland, Ohio based web channel, production, and multi-media distribution company that produces and distributes independent films. We have established relationships with film festivals and teach courses on independent film making at these film festivals at Kent State University as a co-instructor, Moondance Film Festival, Urban Media Makers and most recently at the Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival.
