The Black Candle, the first feature film about Kwanzaa, launches a University Campus Rep Program

    CHALFONT, PA, October 08, 2008 /Movies and Video PR News/ -- University students around the world are beginning to apply for The Black Candle' s Campus Rep Program. To date, students from Spelman College, Harvard University, Rutgers University, Seton Hall University, William Paterson University and Morgan State University have signed up to spread the word about the first film about Kwanzaa.

The Black Candle Campus Reps will learn about the importance of applying the seven principles Kwanzaa to their professional and personal lives and TBC Campus Reps will also learn how to spread the word about the importance of The Black Candle documentary. Campus Reps will also help to build the online community, found under the "Share" tab at The Black Candle.com. "Interested students should send an email to campusreps@ikwanzaa.com, with "the black candle" in the subject line to get started. We will follow up with information about the next step in the application process", said M. K. Asante, Jr., who reminds us "this is a great way for students to actively participate in building community for this historical film."

Narrated by world renown poet Maya Angelou and directed by award-winning author and filmmaker M.K. Asante, Jr., The Black Candle is an extraordinary, inspirational story about the struggle and triumph of African-American family, community, and culture.
