Houston Executive Martha Bryant Challenges Secular Entertainment Executives for More Faith Based Content
Frustrated by the lack of quality content faith based television and theater choices, Martha Bryant is beginning to change the image of Christian entertainment.
HOUSTON, TX, January 11, 2009 /Movies and Video PR News/ -- Applauding Fox Faith for their efforts to take a chance, she encourages more studios to follow. After several exhaustive attempts to convince a few prominent figures change needed to be made, she decided to take on the task of giving the industry a major image overhaul.
Formerly involved in government contracting and having advised entertainers on various levels, Martha believes it to be more ministry than company refocus. To make this move she has comprised a tight knit boardroom of prayer warriors each bringing a unique set of credentials to the table.
Vowing to keep storylines realistic, Martha and her staff at Mercer Merreweather have amassed over 30 programs and movie stories for future production. Spearheading this straight to the top she has sparked the interests of a major secular network out of Burbank, CA and a recently redeveloped Christian network out of Brooklyn, NY. Production costs and the increasing credit crunch play a vital role in decision making but, are not deterrents to move forward. While many networks, studios and large production companies are turning to reality shows much easier on the production pocket book as well as testing of the tolerance levels of the FCC and general public, Mercer Merreweather is taking a different approach. Each project must meet the same criteria for audience draw such as catchy storylines, great acting and quality production; the key ingredient is the anointing. Any project can be written and produced from the head but unless there is The Lords' anointing there will always be something missing. The anointing is unmistakable and can not be imitated. Their soap opera Parkville and night time drama series Dasher will set the stage in serving this vastly overlooked market.
