Drop Dead Pictures releases "Callous" and announces "Two".

Drop Dead Pictures releases their first film to DVD and announces the pre-production of their next feature.

TORRANCE, CA, July 19, 2010 /Movies and Video PR News/ -- Anaheim based film production company Drop Dead Pictures will release their first feature film "Callous" to DVD in mid-August with an official release party on August 4th 2010. Writer and director Joey Lanai and his production partner Thom Mulligan released the film to wide acclaim on the independent festival circuit taking home four best picture awards as well as a best director award for Lanai.

Based on true events, "Callous" is an unpredictable and violent ride on the shoulders of Garrett Blackfoot. This once abused and fragile boy is now a single father who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders while haunted by a childhood best forgotten.

Denying the mystique of his Native American heritage, Garrett is brought face to face with the reality that there is a spiritual plane and the things he had seen in the shadows as a child may be more than just imagined. He is consumed with best intentions for his daughter, a race to save his dying brother and the challenge of burying his curses or passing them on.

"TWO" is a horror/thriller film that tells the story of a geneticist whose experiment goes terribly wrong and inadvertently unleashes it on a small unsuspecting town in the Northern California woods. Joey Lanai will once again direct the feature and will serve as head writer on the project with Thom Mulligan and Rian Bishop serving as the film's producers. Actor Glenn Morshower (The Crazies, 24, Black hawk Down) has been attached to the film as Sheriff Huff, with several other prominent actors in consideration for other roles.

Principal filming is slated to commence shortly with final photography wrapping before the year is out.
